ABIE France Board Member Tea Dietterich meets H.E. Jean-Pierre Thébault, Ambassador of France to Australia at FACCI Queensland AGM
On the 21st April, the French-Australian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (FACCI) welcomed members to the Queensland Annual General Meeting (AGM) at the premises of their Corporate member McCullough Robertson in Brisbane. The AGM was an opportunity for ABIE France Board member Tea Dietterich, CEO and Founder of 2M Language Services, who is also a member of FACCI, to connect with FACCI Queensland President Brian Lorigan, State Councillors and Australian and French business representatives. A key topic of discussion was the long-awaited Australia-European Union Free Trade Agreement which is still under negotiation.
The guest of honour and keynote speaker of the soirée was the Ambassador of France to Australia, H.E. Jean-Pierre Thébault, who gave an account of his first few months in Australia and the challenges and opportunities that lie ahead. The Ambassador thanked FACCI in Queensland for its dynamism, especially in the times of COVID-19. He presented France’s priorities in Australia in fields including hydrogen, defence and critical minerals and the various opportunities for Queensland.
Tea Dietterich was pleased to meet the Ambassador and to discuss the importance of both ABIE France and FACCI in strengthening business links between Australia and France.
In 2018, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between ABIE France and FACCI allowing ABIE France members to attend FACCI events at member rates and vice versa. Both organisations also have access to one another’s member directories.
