ABIE France Corporate Member has been awarded a 250 MW grid services contract with the Australian Energy Market Operator (AEMO) by the Victorian Government. The contract will enable Neoen to proceed with the next phase of its 300 MW / 450 MWh Victorian Big Battery in Geelong, Australia. The Victorian Big Battery will become one of the largest batteries in the world, at twice the size of the 150 MW / 194 MWh Hornsdale Power Reserve in South Australia, also owned and operated by Neoen. Built using Tesla equipment, the Victorian Big Battery will not only transform Victoria’s energy system and improve reliability, but also help the state to reach its target of using 50% renewable energy by 2030.
