Presentation of Credentials by New Australian Ambassador to France, H.E. Gillian Bird PSM
On the 5 November 2020, H.E. Gillian Bird PSM, Australian Ambassador to France with non-resident accreditation to Algeria, Mauritania and Monaco, presented the true copy of her credentials to Mr Philippe Franc, Director of State Protocol and Diplomatic Events at the French Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs. Ambassador Bird is now fully engaged in her duties with the French Republic.
Ambassador Bird is a senior career officer with the Australian Government Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade and most recently served as Ambassador and Permanent Representative to the United Nations in New York (2015-2019). Prior to this appointment, she was Deputy Secretary of the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (2004-2014) and held the additional role of Australia’s first Ambassador to the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) (2008-2013).
