Sedgman awarded the front-end engineering design work for Lithium De France’s Program in France
Under the contract, Sedgman will provide engineering design services to develop Lithium de France’s extraction, concentration and refining processing plants, to produce a battery grade lithium carbonate.
The project is located in a region of the Rhine Valley recognised for its substantial lithium-bearing brine resources. The project uses geothermal energy to power the lithium extraction and refining process to substantially reduce energy consumption and operating costs.

Lithium de France aims to become a key contributor to the country’s future lithium supply. The project is strategically aligned with the European Union’s Critical Raw Materials Act and France’s growing commitment to securing access to essential minerals. Its relevance is further reinforced by the anticipated surge in lithium demand driven by large-scale battery production in Europe.
