In Memoriam – Bernard Tabary
It is with deep sadness and a very heavy heart that we inform you of the death of our President and friend, Bernard Tabary, who passed away suddenly on Sunday morning.
Bernard was a wonderful and inspirational leader who was kind, generous, and respected by those who knew him. He joined the Board of ABIE France (now AFBA) as President in December 2012 and played a key role in promoting relations between France and Australia and contributing to the growth and success of the organisation.
He started his career with the Bolloré group in 1983, where he held a number of management roles in the Transport and Logistics branch, including Vice Chairman of Marketing, Quality and Information Systems (1989 – 1994), Managing Director Australia and New Zealand (1994 – 1995) and Director Africa Line (1997 – 2000).
In 2000, he was appointed Managing Director of the Environment Division of Plastic Omnium, an automotive equipment manufacturer.
He joined the Keolis Group in 2005 as Executive Vice President in charge of Eastern France and Ile-de-France. In 2007, he was appointed Managing Director of Keolis Lyon, the Keolis Group’s subsidiary in charge of operating and maintaining Lyon’s public transport network. In 2011, he was appointed Chief Executive Officer International. He was a graduate of Rouen Business school.
Bernard was greatly admired by all of us and will be forever sorely missed. The outpouring of messages received is a testament to the impact he made on the lives of so many. To that effect, please note that an e-book of condolences is also available via this link: https://www.lyyti.fi/reg/Tribute-to-Bernard. Feel free to leave a message, photo or video until Friday 24 March
As the President of AFBA, he leaves us with a legacy that we will cherish and see flourish. The best mark of respect we can give him is to further nurture the work that was done under his years of leadership.
Our thoughts go out to his family and friends at this difficult time.
