New South Wales Wins Bid to Host Global Space Event

AFBA Corporate Member Investment NSW, in partnership with the Space Industry Association of Australia (SIAA), the Australian Space Agency (ASA) and Business Events Sydney, has successfully won a bid to host the world’s largest space event, the International Astronautical Congress (IAC) in New South Wales in 2025.

The successful bid announced at this year’s Congress in Paris, acknowledges the rapidly growing space industry ecosystem in NSW and throughout Australia. The bid also highlights Australia’s role across the entire space value chain from critical minerals to satellite manufacturing, ground stations, in-space services and consumer and business applications.

Hosting the IAC in Sydney will integrate the space community within the international financial centre, TechCentral, the university precinct and close to the new Aerotropolis in Bradfield City.

Sydney IAC 2025 will also ensure that Pacific Islanders, including over 2 million French citizens, will be offered up to 100 bursaries to participate in the congress.
