ABIE International Reception and Investiture Ceremony – 4 November 2022

We are delighted to announce that former ABIE France President and Honorary AFBA Member, Veronica Comyn, has been appointed an Honorary Member (AM) in the General Division of the Order of Australia for significant service to Australia’s bilateral relationship with France, particularly through the enhancement of trade and business links. 

For over three decades, Veronica has made a significant voluntary contribution to Australia’s interests in France through her involvement with ABIE France (now AFBA). She was instrumental in the formation of ABIE France in 1988 and served as its President for 5 years. We are very proud of Veronica and congratulate her for this well-deserved recognition.

The investiture ceremony took place on the 4th November at a reception in the Ambassador’s Residence at the Australian Embassy in Paris. The ceremony was attended by the Heads of the Australian Business in Europe (ABIE) Network who were in Paris for their bi-annual meeting.

Prior to the reception, the ABIE Heads met with Jennifer Mackinlay, General Manager Europe and Senior Trade and Investment Commissioner at Austrade, who provided an update on Austrade’s trade and investment priorities for Europe and the UK.
